Skode Program Information Session
Indigenous Tourism Ontario (ITO) and the Tourism Innovation Lab have partnered to offer a fifth round of the Skode Program - this year with a focus on Indigenous Culinary Tourism.
The Skode Program will match 3 Finalists with a mentor and provide a $5,000 non-repayable financial contribution to advance their new Indigenous culinary tourism ideas to the next level.
Our goal is to inspire Indigenous entrepreneurs, businesses, non-profits and community groups to come forward with new Indigenous culinary tourism ideas and experiences that will authentically represent, celebrate and promote Indigenous food in Ontario.
Call out for applications from November 7, 2024-January 15, 2025
The Skode Program includes:
- Application reviews by a jury of Indigenous tourism leaders, entrepreneurs and partner representatives
- Finalists Pitch Session (our very friendly take on a tourism Dragon's Den):
- Save the date: February 25, 2025 @ 4:00-6:15PM ET
- Selection of 3 Indigenous Culinary Tourism Skode Program Finalists
- Selection of 1 Indigenous Culinary Tourism Skode Program Grand Prize Winner at a LIVE Pitch Session at Little NHL (March 2025)
Selected Finalists will receive:
- $5,000 non-repayable financial contribution to support their Indigenous culinary tourism idea development activities
- 3 month mentorship with a tourism innovator, experienced operator, industry leader and/or sector expert
- Additional support and resources provided by ITO and program partners
- Access to a network of tourism innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders
- Plus one $20,000 Grand Prize Winner!
All program applicants will be invited to join our community of tourism innovators, partners and supporters for special networking events, one-on-one's, and development workshops.
