Frontenac County
Frontenac County, an area of almost 4,000 square kilometres from the northernmost tip to Howe and Wolfe Islands, is a region rich in diversity in areas such as tourism, agriculture, forestry, services, and government. This vast landscape offers music, art, fishing, hiking, canoeing, ATVing, camping, sailing, beaches, snowmobiling, artisan food, festivals, and more, the experiences are endless. Made up of the municipalities of North Frontenac, Central Frontenac, South Frontenac, and Frontenac Islands, Frontenac is recognized for its unique pristine natural environment and lifestyle choices, commitment to and promotion of strong, resilient, diverse, rural communities.
The Ontario Ministry of Tourism Culture & Sport has divided the Frontenac County territory into two regions; RTO 9 – South Eastern Ontario and RTO 11 – Ontario Highlands.
RTO 9 boundary consists of South Frontenac and Frontenac Islands extending south of Crow Lake Road to include the hamlets/villages of Burridge, Bedford, Verona, and includes Bob Lake.
RTO 11 boundary consists of Central and North Frontenac extending north of Crow Lake Road through Sharbot Lake and includes the villages of Parham, Godfrey, and Mountain Grove.
