Summer is in full swing and our office has been buzzing with activity. Our team is very excited about new opportunities and changes that are happening in the region.
Here are some of our highlights:
In July, experience South Eastern Ontario like never before as 2 strangers embark on an epic journey through The Great Waterway. You can follow their journey and see behind the scene footage as a film crew captures all their shared moments. Then come back in early 2018 to see the final story unfold. This project would not have been possible without the support of our destinations and operators – thank you!
The Great Waterway is excited to announce that we have launched a new french website as we continue to expand our markets.
On June 25, CTV launched a special project called Canada In A Day sharing 3 videos submitted by The Great Waterway for Kingston, Belleville and Prince Edward County. The project was a celebration of Canada made by Canadians for Canadians, highlighting a snapshot of Canadians at home and around the world. It aired in advance of Canada’s 150th. 16,000 submissions were collected from 10 provinces, 3 territories, 22 countries and in 18 languages.
The Great Waterway region was selected as one of the top 91 ways to celebrate Canada 150 courtesy of the Flight Network.
The Great Waterway along with OTMPC and regional partners, have collaboratively put together a native advertising campaign in the spring. So far the project has resulted in huge success driving over 14,000 visits to our blog post Discover a Fascinating World Beneath the 1000 Islands. We are optimistic that we will see similar success with the fall advertising.
The Great Waterway has recognized the need and the opportunity for increasing communication. By increasing communication, we are able to collectively understand the needs, challenges and opportunities within our region. In June, we launched our first industry newsletter to bring you important industry information right to your inbox!
